You can call me an "Accidental Artist." But then again, aren't we all?
My journey into art happened when I picked up a paintbrush one night and started slapping acrylic paint on to a flat canvas.
The result was rather pretty. I took a picture of it and it sold for $100 on Facebook.
I didn't pick up a paintbrush for a long time after that.
Then one day, a friend posted a really cool painting of marbled colors on a tile.
It turned out to be Alcohol Ink.
I fell in love.
Hard.
I still paint with acrylics now and then--but alcohol ink is my soulmate. I love the way the colors blend, play, and rest upon each other. I never know what a painting will look like until I stop putting ink on the paper/tile/pexiglass.
No two paintings are alike. I can't even duplicate them, no matter how I try. The inks have a mind of their own. They're unique--just like you and me.
So dive into the stores and buy a little inspiration that you can hang in your home, drink out of, or wear. I've turned my art into useful things that you can enjoy daily.
